In the modern packaging, printing, papermaking, electronic film and other industrial chains, material cutting technology, as a basic processing link, directly affects the product molding efficiency and dimensional accuracy. Among them, although the names of "slitting machines" and "crosscutting machines" are similar, they have significant differences in function, structure, and application areas.

Slitting machine:
Slitting machines are specially used to longitudinally divide large-width mother roll materials (such as films, mica tapes, non-woven fabrics, aluminum foil, paper, etc.) into multiple small rolls with adjustable widths and neat edges. The slit materials are often used in subsequent printing, lamination or die-cutting processes.
Typical application industries
Printing and packaging: BOPP/PET/PE and other roll film fixed width slitting

Electrical materials: cable mica tape, polyester film strip

Electronic industry: lithium battery separator, optical film, high-function film tape

Papermaking field: cultural paper, label base paper, etc. slitting

Slitting machines are mainly used for slitting mica tapes, paper, insulating materials and films, especially for slitting narrow tapes (insulating materials, mica tapes, films, etc.). Slitting machines are pre-press and post-press equipment used to slit large rolls of paper, films, non-woven fabrics, aluminum foil, mica tapes and other thin materials into small rolls of different widths. It is commonly used in papermaking machinery and printing and packaging machinery. The machine has developed from the initial single motor control to dual motor and three motor control. With faster machine speed, the operation is more stable and efficient.

Cross-cutting machine:
Cross-cutting machine mainly cuts roll materials or sheet materials to fixed length, outputs neat and straight single sheets of materials, supports longitudinal cutting + cross-cutting integrated structure, and can perform multi-specification slicing operations.
Typical application industries
Carton packaging: corrugated cardboard cutting, mounting paper cross-cutting

High-end printing: cigarette labels, calendars, poker, wine box cardboard fixed length slicing

Anti-counterfeiting materials: laser laser paper, aluminized film, gold and silver cardboard and other materials precision cutting

Composite film/label paper: whole roll sheet processing after printing

The cross-cutting machine is suitable for vertical and horizontal cutting of various types of paper, such as gold and silver cardboard, ordinary rainbow paper, laser anti-counterfeiting paper, white board paper and various thin papers. It is widely used in horizontal or vertical cutting of trademarks, cigarette labels, calendars, wine boxes, poker, paper-plastic printing composite materials, etc.
