Factors affecting the cutting performance of low carbon steel include plate thickness, laser power, cutting speed and the distance between workpiece and beam focus. When the plate thickness ranges from 1.6mm to 6.0mm, the beam focus just lies in the workpiece code and the oxygen pressure remains at 140kpa. According to the change of cutting speed of laser power, the cutting quality of low carbon steel can be divided into the following three areas:
(1) fine cutting area; Smooth cut surface, non - stick slag
(2) slightly sticky slag area; Slag is slightly sticky and can be removed by rubbing
(3) firmly adhere to the slag area; The slag is firmly adhered and at the edge where cutting is not possible.
